David Shine

Biography

Adjunct Professor David Shine has worked in the mergers & acquisitions/private equity space for over 30 years. Currently, he runs DNS Consulting LLC, which provides a broad range of strategic advice to startups, with a focus on food & beverage, software services, and technology platforms.

Previously, he was a partner at the international law firms Fried Frank LLP and Paul Hastings LLP. At both firms he ran the mergers & acquisitions practices. Highlights from his practice include representations of Merck in its $40 billion acquisition of Schering Plough and its $15 billion disposition of its consumer products business, Goldman Sachs in its $29 billion acquisition of First Data and $45 billion acquisition of TXU, Northrop Grumman in its $6 billion acquisition of Newport News Shipbuilding, and numerous private equity firms in their purchase and sale transactions.
